Full adhesive back versus selective adhesive makes a difference for some applications.
To Stick or not to Stick
Let’s talk about overlays with selective adhesive, shall we? It sounds boring, but if you’re an engineer or designer who didn’t get enough coffee in the early morning work-a-day hours, and you have to design some kind of label that fits over a push button fixture, it might be just the thing. Finding someone to make such a thing might take more than a good hot cuppa. Fear not, my engineer-ish friends, we’ve got so many options for you. It might not bring the kind of joy to your heart as a box of Krispy Kremes, but it just may save your bacon when the Upper Crusties come in wanting a solution.
So, here’s the deal.
Anytime you want your control panel overlay to stick to something else, but not stick to the buttons or lenses, you’ll want to ask for selective adhesive. It just means there will be adhesive in the areas you want it, and none in the areas you don’t. If we make a control panel for you with specific areas to be left free of adhesive, you’ll be able to push those buttons or view those lit or clear areas with no impediments. The picture examples here show the front and back sides of several parts we’ve made.
